About a two hour drive from San Francisco, California's Napa Valley is an epicurean's dreamland. Aside from the countless vinyards this area is home to some of the state's most treasured restaurants, wineries and indulgences. Gay and lesbian visitors are well received and come for the quaint B&Bs, picturesque landscape and pampering spas.

Highway 29 is the main artery running from Napa in the south to Calistoga in the north. St. Helena and Yountville, also along the route, are two more of Napa's charming hamlets boasting sophisticated bars and restaurants. In total, there are about 250 wineries. Once you decide which ones you want to see, get ready to hit the road, you won't be disappointed by the gorgeous rustic landscape outside your window.
