A Feature Story exploring why Vegas is rising as a popular gay destination.
Read Story

According to a 2005 study by Community Marketing, the glittery desert city of Las Vegas is among the leading U.S. travel destinations for gays and lesbians. With no clear "gay ghetto" or strong GLBT presence the likes of Chelsea in New York or the Castro in San Francisco, this came as a surprise to many marketing firms and leaders in the gay travel industry.

However surprising, Las Vegas does have some of the world's most over-the-top and spectacular attractions and entertainment. It's no surprise that so many conventions and major events are held here. Last year over 38 million visitors came to Las Vegas to stay at its lavish hotels, see some of the country's best shows and performances, shop at the luxury and outlet shops, enjoy a fast-growing fine dining scene, and take in the burgeoning arts and cultural landscape.
