This outdoor street festival held in Baltimore's original deep water seaport, Fell's Point. The festival was originally started as a way to raise funds and draw attention to Fell's Point when the area was slated for demolition due to highway construction. The Fell's Point Fun Festival continues that tradition, showcasing historic Fell's Point, it's businesses, its charming 18th and 19th century residences, and Baltimore City life.
10 full days celebrating "All things beer in the Land of Pleasant Living" and will include as many as 150 or more separate events with something for everyone - who loves beer! The week will feature beer dinners at area pubs and restaurants, appearances by noted brewers, and sipping events at the area's many historical sudsy sites.
Two highlights will be the Brewers Association of Maryland Oktoberfest October 10th when 12 Maryland breweries pour some 75 beers at the Timonium Fairgrounds and the Society for Preservation of Beers from the Wood Real Ale Festival held at the Pratt Street Ale House October 17th where some 30 cask-conditioned ales will be tapped.
Outoberfest is a relaxed block party celebrating the arrival of fall and Naitonal Coming Out Month (October). Local businesses, community groups, schools and universities are all represented. During the festivities, the GLCCB will be open for information and a special exhibit featuring Baltimore's own LGBT community builders.
