New York City is home to more than 8 million people and stands as the world's dynamic center for the financial, media, advertising, and fashion industries. Complementing these powerhouse industries are fine dining, visual and performing arts, shopping and nightlife that would impress even the most discriminating traveler.

Manhattan is a sightseer's mecca and drew a record of over 40 million tourists in 2007. A trip to the Big Apple is not complete without seeing some of the world famous local sights, including the Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, Rockefeller and Lincoln Centers, a revitalized Times Square, Central Park, Riverside Park and the UN.

Don't forget to visit the many diverse neighborhoods including Chelsea, Greenwich Village, Hell's Kitchen, Times Square/Theater District, Chinatown and the Financial District. There's a lot to see and every part of the island has its own unique flavor. You may need an extended stay to soak it all in.

When it's time to find the party, no city has more to choose from. Manhattan's gay nightlife is never dull with dozens of weekly gay-themed parties. Make sure to ask the locals what's happening on the night you choose to go out. There are always different options for every type of crowd.

Since 1999, when an Arabian tent city arose like an oasis along the shoreline of Fire Island, Pines Party has become an annual tradition that has evolved into a weekend-long event. More than just an all-night dance, Pines Party is the community’s premier annual fundraising event, providing grants for two essential beneficiaries: the Stonewall Community Foundation and the Fire Island Pines Property Owners Association Charitable Foundation. Pines Party is very much a community-wide affair. Local builders donate their manpower and expertise to help construct a canopied dance floor, sponsor tents, restroom facilities, the main stage, a side lounge, bars, etc., while Pines residents bring their artistic sensibility, professional know-how and connections to bear on the design, personnel, planning and promotion. Pines Party has become a world-class event that attracts partygoers from around the world, as well as the support of major corporate sponsors.
The New York International Fringe Festival (FringeNYC) is the largest multi-arts festival in North America, with more than 200 companies from all over the world performing for 16 days in more than 20 venues. In addition to 1200 incredible performances.
Based on a little-known incident in Southern California history, this theatrical thrill ride explores the collision of reality and fantasy as two actors juggle various roles to entrap homosexuals for "social vagrancy" in public restrooms in 1914 Long Beach, California. Part of the NYC Fringe Festival. SAT 8/14 @ 7:30pm, MON 8/16 @ 5:15pm, WED 8/18 @ 8:45pm, SAT 8/21 @ 12:15pm, TUE 8/24 @ 4:15pm
One in three people will be diagnosed with cancer within their lifetime, and the LGBT community is affected disproportionately by lung cancer, rectal cancer, and cervical cancer. The money raised through Relay For Life saves lives by funding cutting-edge cancer research, advocacy efforts, patient services, early detection and prevention education. The American Cancer Society Relay For Life is a life-changing event that gives everyone in communities across the globe a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease. At Relay, teams of people camp out at a local high school, park, or fairground and take turns walking or running around a track or path. Each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times during the event. Because cancer never sleeps, Relays are overnight events up to 24 hours in length.
Mix, New York's Experimental Film & Video Festival, was founded over a decade ago as an alternative to mainstream gay festivals. Now entering its second decade, Mix continues to promote queer works that confront conventional cinema & break new ground.
