This Midwestern city has always been known for its outlandishly large shopping attraction, the Mall of America, but Minneapolis has a lot more to offer gay and lesbian tourists than cold temperatures and big-box retailers.
A cultural renaissance and construction boom has given the city a rejuvenating facelift and provided many new entertainment options and attractions. In addition to the new Guthrie Theater, the Walker Art Center and Weisman Art Museum at the University of Minnesota are both being expanded. Numerous art galleries, great shopping and award-winning restaurants make the city a great place to visit.
There's no specific gay neighborhood in Minneapolis but locals would argue that the whole city is gay-friendly and inclusive. Check out our listings of gay-friendly and glbt businesses in the Minneapolis region.
