The Philadelphia Gay and Lesbian Theatre Festival (PGLTF) includes several theater productions celebrating the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender experience through the art of theater. The festival typically included both local and international premieres of critically acclaimed dramas, comedies, musicals and one-person shows. All productions aim to entertain, educate, empower, enlighten, challenge and delight audiences. Topics of previous productions included a musical review of favorite Broadway tunes coming to life with a decidedly gay perspective; dealing with one’s inner burdens while on a pilgrimage to India; turning the damages of sexual abuse to that which gives rise to transformation; intertwined lives of gay men and the women who love them; delving into whether Shakespeare was bi-sexual and if the subject of his love sonnets was a young boy; as well as two productions specifically presented as a part of our ”Young Audience Presentations.”

The Rainbow Awards is a community recognition awards banquet to recognise and thank the supporting individuals, organizations and businesses in the Philadelphia Gayborhood.

The Philly Fringe is our "unfiltered" festival, where new and established artists of all kinds may choose to present their own work, free of a selection process. Most Philly Fringe artists live and work in Philadelphia. How many Philly Fringe productions will appear in the 2010 Festival remains to be seen - we won't find out for sure until June when final participation is confirmed.

To celebrate gay history this October, Equality Forum selected 31 GLBT leaders, one for each day of the month. They chose individuals living or dead, who have distinguished themselves within their field of endeavor, as national heroes, or in the GLBT civil rights movement.
The goal of GLBT History Month is to teach gay history, to provide inspiring role models, and to highlight important worldwide contributions by gay people.
