Seattle Extras
Seattle's own and infamous sex advice columnist Dan Savage drives through America's heartland. Read full story.
One of the first things you'll notice about Seattle is that no matter where you are, you'll find a spectacular view. Snow-capped mountains, sparkling waters and lush, green forests surround this "Emerald City," located between the salt waters of Puget Sound and the fresh-water Lake Washington.
Probably the best way to begin discovering all Seattle has to offer is with a visit to the 605-foot high Space Needle observation deck. A left-over from the 1962 World's Fair, from this landmark you'll breathe in a 360-degree view of the city and beyond; a downtown skyline boasting one of the tallest buildings west of the Mississippi; the seven hills upon which the city is built; the shimmering waters of Elliott Bay.
